On March 28, AiTrax Inc. (Headquarters: Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture; CEO: Tsutomu Tamura) announced the results of an advanced mesh Wi-Fi Proof of Concept (PoC) conducted at major agricultural and logistics infrastructure facilities in the Federative Republic of Brazil. This project was carried out as part of a contract initiative for Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC).
The demonstration took place from January 28 to February 5, 2026, at COMIGO—which operates soybean processing plants, feed mills, and truck yards in the state of Goiás—as well as at GRUPO CESARI’s truck and container yards in the state of São Paulo.
Utilizing advanced mesh Wi-Fi technology built on proprietary patented expertise, AiTrax established a network using Starlink satellite communication as the primary backhaul. The equipment installation and network deployment were executed solely by the staff and engineers of local partner Microset Tecnologia. Even without specialized RF design knowledge, the team successfully converted a vast area of approximately 22 hectares into a high-speed broadband zone in just one hour.
The PoC achieved excellent results across all metrics, including LAN speed, internet throughput, signal strength, coverage, and device connectivity. The performance reportedly exceeded the expectations of both facility stakeholders and local system integrators.
The company's mesh Wi-Fi network architecture connects a single Starlink terminal as the "parent" node, distributing communication resources across multiple "child" nodes. Even in harsh environments crowded with shipping containers and heavy vehicles, AiTrax’s proprietary "On-Demand Path Control Algorithm" analyzed environmental changes in real-time. By performing optimal path switching at millisecond levels, the system maintained consistent communication quality and operational stability.
Furthermore, the demonstration proved the practicality of the "Signal Visualization Indicator" in a real-world setting. This feature allows installers to intuitively monitor signal conditions in real-time for optimal device placement. The results highlight the technology's immediate utility in industrial sites and regions where communication infrastructure is lagging or where it is difficult to maintain on-site technical experts.
Following the success of this PoC, AiTrax plans to further strengthen its strategic partnership with Microset Tecnologia and push for full-scale business expansion across Brazil.
Demand for stable internet connectivity is extremely high in Brazil's rural regions, where agricultural and logistics infrastructure are concentrated. This technology is expected to drive significant social impact in areas such as smart agriculture, logistics efficiency, and bridging the regional digital divide. Additionally, the millisecond-level path switching technology holds immense potential for industrial applications requiring high responsiveness, including drones, robotics, and edge computing.
■ ICT Startup League
A support program launched in FY2023, sparked by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Exploratory R&D Support Project for Startup Creation."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four primary pillars:
1. R&D Funding & Hands-on Support
Providing up to 20 million yen in R&D subsidies. The selection committee members, who evaluate the startups, continue to provide "fan-like" dedicated support after selection, offering advice on business plans and creating growth opportunities to ensure the success of their "recommended" companies.
2. Discovery & Cultivation
Providing opportunities for learning and networking to accelerate business growth, while also identifying and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs to expand the startup ecosystem.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Operating like a professional sports league, this platform encourages positive competition where startups learn and grow together while competing for necessary funding (up to 20 million yen). It also fosters "co-creation" through sessions with committee members and collaboration between league members.
4. Communication
Broadcasting the initiatives of league members through media partnerships. By increasing public awareness, the program aims to create new matching opportunities and expand the horizons for business growth.
