BooQs Speaking and Hosting Workshop at CEFR-J 2026 Symposium!

On March 5, BooQs Inc. (CEO: Shinji Aikawa) announced that it will host a workshop and present research at the "CEFR-J 2026 Symposium," to be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Agora Global Prometheus Hall, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.

This symposium serves as a platform for sharing the latest trends in industry-academia collaboration, including research, education, and product development utilizing CEFR-J. BooQs aims to deepen its partnerships with educational institutions, researchers, and corporations by introducing practical knowledge and research results situated at the crossroads of Generative AI and multilingual education.

■ Workshop and Research Presentations on AI Utilization for Multilingual Vocabulary Lists

In the workshop titled "Utilizing AI for Creating Multilingual Vocabulary Lists," BooQs will introduce approaches for developing and maintaining multilingual vocabulary lists using Generative AI. The session will cover potential applications in education, research, and material development, sharing practical insights on improving efficiency while ensuring quality and addressing operational considerations.

Furthermore, individual research presentations will be delivered on the following topics: "Analysis of L2 Utterances by Teachers Aiming for CEFR-J: From the Perspective of COLT Part B Information Gap" and "An AI-Based System for Generating CEFR-J Can-Do Test Practice Tasks." These reports will highlight efforts toward implementing Generative AI-driven language education support in real-world educational settings.

By connecting these research findings to actual learning support and material development, the company aims to further expand the possibilities of CEFR-J utilization.

■ Comment from Shinji Aikawa, CEO of BooQs Inc.

"While Generative AI greatly expands the potential for material creation and learning support in multilingual education, educational validity and operational design remain essential. At this symposium, we look forward to sharing how support can be provided from both research and implementation perspectives based on CEFR-J, creating opportunities for new collaborations across education, research, and business development."

■ ICT Startup League
A support program launched in FY2023, triggered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Startup Creation-type Seed Research and Development Support Project."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
R&D funding of up to 20 million yen is provided in the form of grants. In terms of hands-on support, the selection committee members who evaluated the league members continue to provide close guidance to accelerate growth. For companies highly rated by evaluators, a "champion-style" support system is established where evaluators personally provide ongoing advice on business plans and growth opportunities.
2. Discovery & Cultivation
The program provides opportunities for learning and networking to promote the business growth of league members. It also works to discover aspiring entrepreneurs to expand the startup ecosystem.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Functioning like a positive sports league, the program allows startups to learn together and compete to secure necessary funding (up to 20 million yen). It also provides a space for "co-creation," where league members can collaborate to expand their businesses through various sessions with selection committee members.
4. Communication & Promotion
The initiatives of league members are promoted in collaboration with media outlets. By raising public awareness of these businesses, the program aims to broaden opportunities for new matching and partnerships.
