Sukidayo Inc. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yuka Atsuta) announced on February 26 the release of a new feature, "Couple Diagnosis," within its AI app "Riamo," designed for couples and spouses.
This feature allows partners to answer themed questions, after which the AI analyzes their personality tendencies and relationship dynamics. It serves as a tool to promote mutual understanding and deeper communication.
In relationships, differences in "spending habits," "expressions of affection," and "communication styles" are often the primary causes of misunderstandings or conflict. However, addressing these topics directly can be challenging, often leading partners to harbor unspoken discomfort.
Riamo’s "Couple Diagnosis" was developed to solve this issue. By answering prepared questions in a gamified format, the AI provides written feedback based on both partners' responses, highlighting personality types, commonalities, and tips for improving the relationship.
Furthermore, because users can see a side-by-side comparison of each other’s answers, the design naturally facilitates dialogue, encouraging partners to say things like, "Oh, I didn't realize that's how you felt."
"Riamo" is an AI app packed with features to strengthen the bond between couples and spouses. In addition to daily prompts, it includes bucket lists, anniversary reminders, and memory-sharing tools. The app currently supports four languages, with plans to expand to over ten languages in the future.
The developer, Sukidayo Inc., is a high-profile startup recently selected for "Forbes Japan IMPACT STARTUP 30." The company aims to continue leveraging technology to help more couples build better relationships through meaningful dialogue.
■ ICT Startup League
This support program was launched in FY2023, originating from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Project for Supporting Seed-stage R&D for Startup Creation."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million yen in R&D funding is provided in the form of grants. In terms of hands-on support, the selection committee members who evaluated the league members remain involved after the selection process to foster growth. For companies that committee members are particularly passionate about, they provide direct advice on business plans and growth opportunities—a support system akin to "fandom-style" mentorship.
2. Discovery & Development
The league provides opportunities for learning and networking to accelerate the business growth of its members. It also seeks to discover aspiring entrepreneurs to expand the ecosystem.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Designed like a sports league, it offers a platform for positive competition. Startups learn and compete together to win the necessary funding (up to 20 million yen). It also provides a space for co-creation, where league members can collaborate and expand their businesses through sessions with selection committee members.
4. Promotion
The league partners with media outlets to broadcast the initiatives of its members. By increasing public awareness of these businesses, the program aims to expand opportunities for new matching and partnerships.
