Kiviaq Partners with "Mitene Call Doctor" to Launch Prescription Drug Delivery in as Little as 30 Minutes — Addressing sudden illness during nights and holidays: Seamlessly connecting diagnosis to medicine delivery at home —

Kiviaq and Mitene Call Doctor Partnership

Kiviaq Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shun Okada), a company specializing in pharmaceutical SCM (Supply Chain Management) and related businesses, announced on February 10 the launch of an immediate prescription delivery service. This service is provided in collaboration with "Mitene Call Doctor," an after-hours and holiday house call/online medical consultation service operated by Call Doctor Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).

Through this partnership, patients who receive online consultations via "Mitene Call Doctor" can receive their prescription medications from "Kiviaq Pharmacy," a dispensing pharmacy operated by Kiviaq, in as little as 30 minutes.

■ A Healthcare Experience That Meets the Need for "Instant Delivery"

Service Workflow

"Mitene Call Doctor" is a service where doctors provide house calls or online consultations for sudden illnesses during nighttime or on holidays. It is particularly popular among families with small children.

This collaboration eliminates the time lag in "receiving medicine" following an online consultation. In addition to existing "same-day delivery," the company has established a system utilizing motorcycle couriers in specific areas (parts of Tokyo) to ensure medicine arrives immediately after the consultation ends. This removes the burden of visiting a pharmacy while feeling unwell, allowing patients to begin treatment while resting at home.

■ Innovating the "Last One Mile" of Healthcare Access

Kiviaq has been expanding its prescription delivery network through previous collaborations with partners such as Tokyu Bell and Seino HD.

The partnership with Call Doctor is positioned as a solution for high-urgency medical needs. Moving forward, the company aims to build a social infrastructure where "necessary medical care is delivered exactly when it is needed" by integrating technology and logistics.

■ ICT Startup League
This support program was launched in FY2023, triggered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Seed-stage R&D Support Project for Startup Creation."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million yen in R&D funding is provided in the form of subsidies. In terms of hands-on support, the selection committee members stay involved even after the selection process to foster growth. For companies that committee members find exceptionally promising, the members provide personal support—similar to "super-fan" (oshi-katsu) advocacy—by offering advice on business plans and providing growth opportunities.
2. Discovery and Development
We provide opportunities for learning and networking to accelerate the business growth of league members. We also focus on discovering aspiring entrepreneurs to expand the startup ecosystem.
3. Competition & Co-creation
The league operates like a sports league, fostering a positive competitive environment. Startups learn and compete together to win the necessary funding (up to 20 million yen). We also provide a space for "co-creation," where league members can collaborate and expand their businesses through sessions with selection committee members and various other opportunities.
4. Promotion
We promote the initiatives of league members in collaboration with the media! By raising public awareness of these businesses, we aim to expand opportunities for new matching and business prospects.
