EQUES, a UTokyo Matsuo Lab Startup, Launches Generative AI Learning Platform for the Pharmaceutical Industry ― Acquiring Practical Skills with "AI x DX Terakoya Learning" to Accelerate On-Site AI Adoption ―

Launch of AI x DX Terakoya Learning

EQUES Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Naoki Kishi), an AI startup originating from the Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, announced on February 3 the launch of "AI x DX Terakoya Learning." This e-learning platform is designed to systematically teach business use cases for Generative AI.

The first phase of content is specialized for operations within the pharmaceutical industry, such as Quality Assurance (GMP) and Medical Representatives (MR). In the strictly regulated environment of the pharmaceutical sector, the platform aims to powerfully support on-site AI utilization and DX promotion through "talent development."

■ Overcoming the Barrier: "We Have the Tools, But Can't Use Them"

Through the provision of services like "QAI-Generator," an AI SaaS for the pharmaceutical industry, EQUES has witnessed the challenges faced by frontline workers, such as "inability to master deployed AI tools" or "not knowing how to connect AI to specific tasks."

This service was developed to solve those very issues. Rather than offering general AI theory, the focus is on providing "practical knowledge usable tomorrow" based on domain knowledge specific to the pharmaceutical industry.

■ Providing Prompts for "Immediate Execution via Copy & Paste"

The main features are as follows:

Micro-learning
With videos approximately 10 minutes long and confirmation tests, users can learn efficiently during gaps in their busy schedules.
Practical Prompts
To ensure users can immediately test what they've learned in actual operations, copy-and-paste prompt templates are provided.
Progress Management
The platform plans to implement features allowing not just individual tracking, but also enabling administrators to grasp the progress of the entire organization.

The subscription fee is 9,900 JPY (tax included) per account per month. The company plans to expand content to other industries, such as accounting, in the future.

■ About ICT Startup League
This support program began in FY2023, sparked by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Program to Support Creation of Startups aimed at Promoting Germination of R&D."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million JPY in R&D funding is provided as a grant. Additionally, in terms of hands-on support, the evaluation committee members involved in the selection process stay close to the startups post-selection to promote growth. For companies that committee members evaluated as "must-select candidates," a "fandom-like" support system is built where the members themselves provide continuous support, offering advice on business plans and growth opportunities.
2. Discovery & Cultivation
The league provides opportunities for learning and networking to encourage the business growth of league members.
It also expands its scope by discovering and cultivating those aiming to start businesses in the future.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Functioning like a sports league, it offers a venue for positive competition where startups learn together and improve through friendly rivalry to win necessary funding (up to 20 million JPY). It also provides a space for co-creation where league members can collaborate to expand their businesses through various opportunities, such as sessions with evaluation committee members.
4. Dissemination
The initiatives of league members are broadcasted in collaboration with media outlets. By letting more people know about these businesses, the league aims to broaden the field for new matching and opportunities.
