InnoJin Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takenori Inomata), a venture startup originating from Juntendo University, announced on January 27 that it has begun collaborating with online pharmacies through its ophthalmology telemedicine platform.
This enables end-to-end support from the online consultation to the receipt of prescription medications, aiming to enhance patient convenience and improve treatment continuation rates.
While telemedicine is becoming more widespread, the complexity of receiving medication procedures after a consultation has been a challenge. With this new integration, patients can proceed smoothly to medication guidance at an online pharmacy and arrange for delivery immediately after their online consultation.
The service will initially be introduced at "Tenohira Eye Clinic" in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, with plans to expand sequentially based on the needs of medical institutions.
InnoJin has been promoting Digital Transformation (DX) in the field of ophthalmology, including the development of apps such as "Smartphone Dry Eye Check."
Through this initiative, the company aims to create an environment where patients who have difficulty visiting hospitals or busy modern individuals can continue treatment without strain, contributing to the realization of a society where everyone can access necessary medical care.
■ ICT Startup League
This support program was launched in FY2023, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Start-up Creation Oriented Budding Research and Development Support Project."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million yen in R&D funding is provided as a grant. In terms of hands-on support, the evaluation committee members who selected the league members stay involved after selection to foster growth. For companies that committee members are determined to support ("absolutely want to adopt"), a support system akin to "Oshi-katsu" (passionate support) is established, where the evaluators themselves continuously provide advice on business plans and offer growth opportunities.
2. Discovery & Incubation
We provide opportunities for learning and networking to accelerate the business growth of league members.
We also expand the scope by discovering those aiming to start new businesses.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Functioning like a sports league, this serves as a positive competitive environment where startups learn from each other and hone their skills while competing to win the necessary funding (up to 20 million yen). We also provide a space for co-creation where league members can collaborate to expand their businesses through various opportunities, such as sessions with evaluation committee members.
4. Dissemination
We broadcast the initiatives of league members in collaboration with the media! By letting more people know about these businesses, we aim to expand opportunities for new matching and chances.
