TOY EIGHT Holdings Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; Representative Director & CEO: Masaki Ishibashi), a provider of digital developmental screenings and developmental support programs, announced on January 8 that it has concluded a contract with PT Pembaharuan Hidup Cemerlang (hereinafter "PHC") in Indonesia.
Through this partnership with PHC, the company will begin providing digital developmental screening services to approximately 50 kindergartens operated by Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan (hereinafter "YPPH"), Indonesia's largest school corporation.
To address the shortage of specialized personnel in Southeast Asian educational settings, the company has been working to promote inclusive education by providing an integrated package comprising app-based digital developmental screenings, awareness training, and early intervention programs.
Under this alliance, TOY EIGHT will license its patented digital screening tools and training programs to PHC. Master trainers cultivated by PHC will instruct YPPH teachers, establishing a self-sustaining system where the teachers can conduct the screenings themselves. Training has already been completed, and operations began with the pre-enrollment preparation program for the 2026 academic year.
The partners, YPPH and PHC, are under the umbrella of the Lippo Group, a major Indonesian conglomerate.
CEO Masaki Ishibashi commented, "It is highly significant to provide opportunities for developmental screenings on a large scale in Southeast Asia, where there is a shortage of specialized talent." Following its track record in Malaysia, the company aims to use this full-scale expansion in Indonesia as a foothold to spread inclusive education throughout Southeast Asia.
■ About the ICT Startup League
This support program was launched in FY2023, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Startup Creation-type Germination Research and Development Support Project."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million JPY in R&D funding is provided as a grant. In addition, through "hands-on support," the selection and evaluation committee members who were involved in selecting the league members remain engaged after selection to promote growth. For companies that committee members evaluated as "must-select," a support system likened to "Oshi-katsu" (enthusiastic fandom/support) is established, where the evaluators themselves continuously provide advice on business plans and offer growth opportunities.
2. Discovery & Cultivation
We provide opportunities for learning and networking to promote the business growth of league members.
We also deploy initiatives to discover those aiming to launch startups, aiming to expand the base of the ecosystem.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Functioning like a sports league, this serves as a venue for positive competition where startups learn together and challenge one another to win the necessary funding (up to 20 million JPY). We also provide a space for co-creation where league members can collaborate to expand their businesses through various opportunities, such as sessions with selection and evaluation committee members.
4. Dissemination
We disseminate information about the initiatives of league members in collaboration with the media! By letting more people know about these businesses, we aim to broaden the scope of new matching opportunities and chances.
