EQUES Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Naoki Kishi), a startup from the University of Tokyo's Matsuo Lab developing AI solutions, announced on November 26 the commencement of automated integration between its pharmaceutical AI SaaS "QAI Generator" and Union Sync Co., Ltd.'s (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka) quality management system "Quality Designer for GxP."
Through this integration, documents generated by AI can be automatically imported and drafted into the quality management system. This is expected to streamline quality assurance operations and improve accuracy within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
"QAI Generator" is a service where AI automatically generates medical documents, such as deviation reports and change requests, simply by inputting the necessary information. Meanwhile, "Quality Designer for GxP" is a system that digitizes and centrally manages information regarding complaints, deviations, and change controls, supporting the assurance of Data Integrity.
With this new feature, documents generated by AI are automatically reflected in "Quality Designer for GxP," eliminating the need for manual transcription. This not only reduces the operational burden but is also expected to prevent transcription errors.
Hiroshi Nishitani, President of Union Sync, commented that it provides "a new option to reduce the burden of thinking up document content from scratch." EQUES CEO Naoki Kishi also stated, "It becomes possible to seamlessly apply AI-created documents to the entire quality event workflow," indicating their joint commitment to supporting the sophistication of quality management.
■ About ICT Startup League
This support program was launched in FY2023, sparked by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Start-up Creation-type Germination Research and Development Support Project."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million JPY in R&D funding is provided in the form of a grant. Additionally, through hands-on support, selection committee members involved in choosing league members continue to stay close and promote growth after selection. For companies that committee members evaluate as "absolute must-haves," a supportive structure akin to "fandom" (oshi-katsu) is established, where the evaluators themselves provide continuous support, such as advice on business plans and offering growth opportunities.
2. Discovery & Incubation
We provide opportunities for learning and networking to promote the business growth of league members.
We also expand our reach by discovering and supporting those aiming to start new businesses.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Serving as a venue for positive competition like a sports league, startups learn together and improve through friendly rivalry to win the necessary funding (up to 20 million JPY). It also provides a place for co-creation where league members collaborate to expand their businesses through various opportunities, such as sessions with selection committee members.
4. Dissemination
We disseminate the initiatives of league members in collaboration with the media! By letting more people know about these businesses, we aim to expand the field for new matching and opportunities.
