Toyooka-shi, Hyogo
Promoting public-private co-creation projects to address social issues in order to realize a "small global city"
Toyooka City is working to become a "Small Global City - Local & Global City" through collaboration between citizens, local communities, businesses, and government to resolve local issues and revitalize the region, including projects such as the reintroduction of Oriental White Storks to the wild and elimination of the gender gap. We welcome projects that demonstrate and experiment with unique technologies and ideas that contribute to solving social issues, using Toyooka City's various resources (people, things, and events). Furthermore, we are promoting public-private co-creation by establishing the "Future Co-Creation Office" in April 2024 as a liaison office for public-private co-creation.

Our city has adopted the slogan "Small Global City - Local & Global City" as its urban development motto. We deliberately use "local" instead of "small," aiming to be "a city that is respected and valued by people around the world, despite its small population, through its local and unique characteristics." Citizens, local communities, businesses, and government are working together on initiatives such as the reintroduction of Oriental White Storks to the wild and efforts to eliminate the gender gap. We welcome projects that demonstrate and experiment with unique technologies and ideas that contribute to solving local issues, using Toyooka's various resources (people, things, and events) as a platform.
We believe that supporting startup companies, providing test sites for companies, and various other forms of support will not only solve local issues and create new value, but will also lead to a continuous inflow of know-how, information, and people from outside, revitalizing the city.
It is also important for startup companies and the city to understand and empathize with each other's goals, work in the same direction, and contribute each other's assets while building a win-win relationship where it is reasonable. We would like to work together to explore the possibilities of how new technologies and services can lead to the happiness of people (citizens).
