On Friday, September 19th, the 2nd 'Startup League Academy' was held.
This time, two selected companies, KiAI Inc. and CraftX Inc., took the stage for a "Value-Up Session" aimed at increasing their business value. With experts participating, discussions were held to propel their businesses to the next stage, filling the venue with excitement from start to finish.
Prior to the Value-Up Session, Mr. Tadashi Fukuda, chairman of the ICT Startup League steering committee, took the stage. Using the recent victory of the Hanshin Tigers professional baseball team as an example, he explained how railway companies in the Kansai region (such as Hankyu, Hanshin, and Kintetsu) have overcome their rivalries to build a collaborative network that maximizes customer convenience.
"If it benefits the user, you can partner with what might seem like a competitor. I want all of you to think about your own businesses from the perspective of 'What can we achieve if we team up with this company?'" he said, emphasizing the importance for startups to think outside the box and create new value through collaboration with different industries. With the excitement building, the Value-Up Session began.
A serious discussion unfolded, focusing on the theme of "expanding a network of reliable information sources." Experts proposed a series of concrete collaboration ideas that the company had not considered, such as partnering with the travel industry, making it a session that uncovered new possibilities for the business.
During the session, experts made a series of sharp points, questioning the core of the business with questions like, "What is the unique value that only AI can provide?"
For the presenters, it became a crucial opportunity to confront the true strengths of their products and re-examine the core of their business.
More details on the heated sessions will be shared in the full report, to be released at a later date.
The latest information will be announced on our official X (formerly Twitter), so be sure to follow us and stay tuned for updates.

■ICT Startup League
This support program was launched in fiscal 2023, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Program for Fostering Startup-Oriented Germination R&D."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four pillars.
①R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
A maximum of 20 million yen in R&D expenses is provided in the form of subsidies. Additionally, through hands-on support, the selection committee members involved in choosing league members continue to stay close and promote their growth after the selection process. For companies that a committee member "absolutely wants to select," an advocacy-style support system is in place where the committee members themselves continuously provide advice on business plans and offer growth opportunities.
② Discovery & Nurturing
We provide opportunities for learning and networking to promote the business growth of league members. We also focus on discovering aspiring entrepreneurs to broaden the base of the ecosystem.
③ Competition & Co-creation
It serves as a place for positive competition, much like a sports league, where startups learn together and compete to win the funding they truly need (up to 20 million yen). We also provide a platform for co-creation, where league members can collaborate and expand their businesses through various opportunities, including sessions with selection committee members.
④ Promotion
We will promote the initiatives of league members in collaboration with the media! By making their businesses known to a wider audience, we aim to expand opportunities for new matchmaking and chances.
