Runtrip and Sumitomo Life Launch New Plan for Runners ― Access "Vitality" Benefits for 330 Yen/Month: A New Experience to Earn Miles by Running ―

Runtrip PREMIUM Plus powered by Vitality Smart

Runtrip, Inc. (HQ: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Eiichiro Omori), a company deploying services for runners, and Sumitomo Life Insurance Company (HQ: Osaka City, Osaka; President & CEO: Yukinori Takada) launched the collaborative product "Runtrip PREMIUM Plus powered by Vitality Smart" on January 15.

This plan combines Runtrip's paid service "Runtrip PREMIUM" with Sumitomo Life's health program "Vitality Smart." A distinctive feature is that it is available for a monthly fee of 330 yen (tax included) without requiring an insurance contract.

■ Packed with Benefits to Make "Running" More Fun

In this new plan, the accrual rate of "Runtrip Miles" awarded for daily running measurements increases to 1.3 times the standard rate. Additionally, users can earn extra miles based on their Vitality status. Accumulated miles can be exchanged for coupons usable for purchasing running shoes, apparel, and more.

Participants can also join the "Active Challenge," where achieving weekly exercise goals rewards them with drink tickets for cafes or convenience stores, providing powerful support for maintaining running motivation.

■ Supporting Runner Well-being

While the two companies have previously cooperated on events, this new plan strengthens their support system to help runners enjoy a smarter and more fun daily running life.

The plan is open to Runtrip members aged 18 to 80. Applications can be made via the Runtrip app or the special website.

■ ICT Startup League
This support program was launched in FY2023, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Startup Creation-type Embryonic Research and Development Support Project."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million yen in R&D funding is provided in the form of subsidies. In terms of hands-on support, the selection and evaluation committee members who were involved in selecting the league members continue to stay close after selection to promote growth. For companies that committee members "absolutely want to select," a support system likened to "Oshi-katsu" (enthusiastic fandom-like support) is built, where the members themselves continuously provide support such as advice on business plans and opportunities for growth.
2. Discovery & Incubation
We provide opportunities for learning and networking to encourage the business growth of league members.
We also deploy initiatives to discover those aiming to start businesses in the future, aiming to expand the base of the ecosystem.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Functioning as a positive competitive arena like a sports league, the mechanism allows startups to learn together and improve through friendly rivalry while winning the necessary funding (up to 20 million yen). We also provide a place for co-creation where league members can collaborate to expand their businesses through various opportunities such as sessions with selection and evaluation committee members.
4. Dissemination
We disseminate the initiatives of league members in cooperation with the media! By letting many people know about their businesses, we aim to expand the field for new matching and opportunities.
