PulmoGate, Inc. is a medical AI startup established to bring the research findings on interstitial pneumonia accumulated at Nagoya University into practical application. We develop remote multidisciplinary consultations (MDD) led by specialists, diagnostic AI, AI for prognosis prediction and treatment recommendations, and monitoring and rehabilitation apps, providing end-to-end support from diagnosis through treatment, follow-up care, and rehabilitation. Through the collective intelligence of people and technology, we aim to establish the global standard for personalized medicine in the field of respiratory medicine.

Development of an App for Home Monitoring and Rehabilitation Support for Interstitial Pneumonia

In this initiative, we are working on the research and development of a patient-focused app designed to help individuals with interstitial lung disease safely and consistently perform pulmonary rehabilitation at home. Building upon an existing prototype monitoring app, we will develop features to collect data such as SpO₂, lung function, activity levels, and symptoms from medical devices and wearables. This will visualize the patient's health status and enable them to share it seamlessly with their primary physician. Through expert evaluations and user trials with 20 participants, we will verify its functionality and usability, optimizing the app for real-world implementation.

Graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Kyoto University. At IBM Business Consulting Services and Roland Berger, he worked on numerous projects involving corporate turnaround, company-wide strategy formulation, new business creation, and M&A support. In 2012, as a director at Primedica, he led the launch of a preventive healthcare business from the ground up. He assumed the position of President and CEO in 2014 and grew the service to boast over 4,700 participating medical institutions in Japan and a cumulative user base of over 1.5 million people. In 2024, he exited the company by selling it to Medipal Holdings, Japan’s largest pharmaceutical wholesaler.
