Our company is developing “Namigate,” a passive device that uses proprietary dielectric technology to solve the growing problem of indoor radio signal dead zones caused by Low-E glass and highly insulated walls. This new technology is the world’s first application of the anti-reflective coating principle used in optics to GHz-band radio waves, improving signal attenuation by 10 to 50 dB. Unlike existing metasurfaces that use metal thin-film processing, it requires no power source, is low-cost, can be retrofitted, and is highly scalable for mass production, simultaneously solving challenges in both the building materials and telecommunications sectors. We aim to promote this as a globally competitive ICT technology originating in Japan.
