Completed public health studies in the UK and worked as an OB/GYN in Sierra Leone, the world's poorest country. Engaged in a digital health project targeting pregnant women in that country. Subsequently moved to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to participate in the same project.
After returning to Japan, gained experience at a domestic startup before returning to clinical practice as an OB/GYN in Gifu Prefecture, where he remains today. Founded nonat Inc. in 2023. Currently serves as President and CEO, and Chief Clinical Research Officer. |

I studied public health in the UK during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
Subsequently, in 2022, I traveled to the Republic of Sierra Leone, one of the world's poorest nations, where I worked as an obstetrician-gynecologist in local medical activities. There, I witnessed numerous instances where malnutrition and infectious diseases were rampant, and young lives were lost because appropriate medical intervention arrived too late. However, what shook me most profoundly was the deep sorrow of mothers and families who had lost their children. I was acutely aware that this grief transcends national borders and cultures, being universally shared. As WHO reports confirm, challenges in perinatal care remain deeply entrenched globally. With artificial intelligence now advancing exponentially, I am convinced that harnessing this technology can open pathways to save lives even in regions previously beyond the reach of medical care. My journey to founding this company began with meeting two mentors who guided me to the UK and revealed a world I wanted to achieve through entrepreneurship—a completely new approach. We will overcome the injustice that “where you are born determines your life” through innovation. This project, backed by the potential of AI-powered telemedicine, is the first step toward revolutionizing today's perinatal care and building a future healthcare system unaffected by geography or social background. We are committed to working sincerely and with all our strength to realize a world where the lives of women and children, the future of our society, are equally protected. |
