My childhood dream was to become a baseball player.
I was a member of the baseball team at my public school up until high school. I wasn't able to achieve any special results, but I enjoyed the process of improving through repeated practice.
I am currently teaching oral care experience classes for elementary and junior high school students. Here too, my goal is to help them feel that they are improving through the experience. |

Koyama, a native of Kumamoto Prefecture, witnessed the issue of declining oral function among the elderly due to difficulties securing water while volunteering after the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake. Elderly people are prone to oral diseases such as periodontal disease and tooth decay, and when water cannot be secured, bacteria in the mouth proliferates and aspiration pneumonia worsens.
To solve this issue, Koyama decided to work on developing dental medical services that incorporate cutting-edge technology. He thought that by utilizing cutting-edge technology, it would be possible to improve the quality of dental care and raise dental and oral health to the European and American standards.
Koyama founded the dental medical startup "Happy Co., Ltd." in 2018. Happy Co., Ltd. develops and provides dental medical services that utilize cutting-edge technologies such as AI and ICT.
The system developed by Happy Co., Ltd. to predict the state of periodontal disease by simply taking a photo is painless and can be done anywhere, compared to traditional dental checkups, enabling early detection and early treatment.
Happy Co., Ltd.'s efforts improve dental and oral health and contribute to raising people's quality of life.
