iiba Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Nana Aizawa), the developer and operator of the childcare map app "iiba," announced on January 27 that it has concluded a "Business Cooperation Agreement on Childcare Support" with Komaki City, Aichi Prefecture.
Under this agreement, the two parties will jointly promote the development of a digital childcare map and the planning and implementation of "Children's Work Experience Programs" designed to foster children's career perspectives. The goal is to build a community-based co-creation model for childcare support.
As a specific initiative, childcare facilities within the city (such as "Baby Stations" and community centers) will be centralized on the "iiba" app. By enabling users to search for features like the availability of nursing rooms, the initiative aims to reduce the burden of travel and information gathering for child-rearing households.
Additionally, "Children's Work Experience" events will be held in collaboration with local businesses. These events will provide career education for elementary and junior high school students, while also highlighting the appeal of local companies and creating opportunities for community interaction that parents can also attend.
This initiative is part of a project selected for the "AICHI Co-Creation Startup Program 2025," organized by Aichi Prefecture.
iiba aims to become an advanced model case where local governments and startups collaborate to solve regional issues. The company also intends to expand this model to other municipalities within the prefecture in the future.
■ ICT Startup League
This is a support program launched in FY2023, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' "Start-up Creation-type Germination Research and Development Support Business."
The ICT Startup League supports startups through four main pillars:
1. R&D Funding / Hands-on Support
Up to 20 million yen in R&D funding is provided in the form of a grant. Additionally, the selection committee members involved in choosing the league members continue to stay close and promote growth even after selection. For companies that evaluators felt they "absolutely wanted to select," a dedicated support system (likened to enthusiastic "fandom" support) has been established, where the evaluators themselves provide continuous mentorship through advice on business plans and offering growth opportunities.
2. Discovery & Incubation
We provide opportunities for learning and networking to promote the business growth of league members.
We also deploy initiatives to discover those aiming to start businesses, aiming to expand the base of the startup ecosystem.
3. Competition & Co-creation
Functioning like a sports league, this is a venue for positive competition where startups learn together and improve themselves while competing to win the necessary funding (up to 20 million yen). We also provide a space for co-creation where league members collaborate to expand their businesses through various opportunities, such as sessions with selection committee members.
4. Dissemination
We disseminate the initiatives of league members in collaboration with media! By letting more people know about the businesses, we aim to expand opportunities for new matching and chances.
